"Up the Ladder" Summation

This month we have examined the simple, yet complex issue of the old question "How much does it cost to change a light bulb".

The answer, as we have seen depends upon many premises for your individual facility. The size of the building is an obvious factor, the types and manufacturers of the lamps used, the height of the average lamp from the floor, and overall, is the lamp an energy efficient type.

We conclude that by moving to Sylvania's Energy Efficient Program, designed for Property Managers and building managers alike the savings are off the charts in energy benefits. I personally outfitted a recent caller who had a plumbing fixture retail outlet in West Hollywood, CA (mostly high end sinks). This outlet catered to after hours window shoppers who might happen by his location. Therefore his lighting needed to be on all night. He had a total of 90 lamps, and we outfitted him with the same lamp in Sylvania's Energy Efficient line. He paid about 5 dollars more per lamp or $450 dollars more in total. His energy bill was reduced by 900 dollars per month by the second billing period. The lamps lasted about 18 months, as they were meant to by specification, and his total energy savings was: $14,400 dollars less the initial overage outlay of 450 dollars. This is a net savings of $13,950 dollars without the rebates he received from his utility company, and of course, the feeling of contribution he gained from becoming ecologically friendly.

Really, I feel this sums it up nicely, and I invite you to outfit your facility as well. Let me be your guide and allow Enterprise Resources to do all of the work for you. This technique allows you, as a manager of your facility to relax, and present the principals of your facilites with a bottom line savings that can only embellish your reltionships.
